Assistant Team Manager - Positive Futures Care Leavers - Swindon - Up to £47,016 per annum

A social work qualified Assistant Team Manager is required to join a Positive Futures Care Leavers Team based in Swindon.

The successful canddiate will join a children's services department that has made significant progress and are now moving towards providing outstanding services. In recognising the need to transform and progress they have made the following improvements:

* A leaving care panel that focuses on progressing each child's journey
* A dedicated Routes to Employment Team
* A dedicated homelessness prevention Pathway Advisor
* A dedicated adolescent mental health practitioner
* Strong partnerships through the Children Looked After and Care Leavers Partnership Board

Responsibilities of this Assistant Team Manager role include:

* Ensuring high quality work across all areas of work, including, CLA, Care Leavers and UASC
* Ensuring work is completed in a timely way focusing on the needs of the children and young people
* Ensuring staff are skilled in relation to best practice surrounding CLA and care leavers
* Working within Swindon Borough Council Management Team to develop practice and skills across the service area to ensure children and their families receive a seamless services
* Working with young people, foster carers, residential and semi-independent and supported accommodation providers
* Ensuring that resources are used to enable best outcomes for children and young people
* Working alongside colleagues from a variety of agencies to ensure children and young people's needs are consistently being met

Essential requirements of this Assistant Team Manager role include:

* Degree or equivalent in Social Work
* Registered with Social Work England
* Fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act - for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
* Eligible to work in the UK
