Educational Psychologist - Statutory Assessments - North Yorkshire - £1,000 per assessment

An experienced and passionate Educational Psychologist is required to join a local authority in North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will ensure the provision of a high quality of educational psychology service for children, families, schools and other establishments concerned with children.

As an Education Psychologist you will develop particular knowledge, skills and experience in the field of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The duties of this Educational Psychologist role:

* Build open and honest relationships using language appropriate to the development of the child or young person and the family culture and background
* Ensure effective partnership working with parents and carers built on mutual respect
* Listen actively and respond with empathy
* Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people that you are responsible for and come into contact wit
* Use trust and understanding to make considered judgements
* Involve children and young people when taking action on their behalf
* Using psychological techniques and procedures, to provide a range of casework activities including consultation, problem identification and assessment, together with the provision of advice and a variety of intervention strategies
* To assist the Local Authority in its development, coordination and assessment functions in relation to the National Curriculum, with particular regard to children who have SEND needs
* To enquire about the progress of LAC and attend the annual reviews for LAC with SEND

Essential requirements of this Educational Psychologist role:

* Experience of successfully working as an Educational Psychologist in a variety of contexts, inc some SEND experience
* A qualified psychologist who is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
* A professional qualification in educational psychology that meets BPS requirements
* Knowledge of statutory requirements, including requirements in respect of Data protection and Freedom of Information
* Awareness of current issues & legislation affecting educational psychology practice in the chosen field
* In depth knowledge of current guidance and legislation with respect to SEND education and services
* The legal right to work in the UK
