Young Persons Advisor - Islington - £19.01 per hour

We are currently looking for a Young Persons Advisor to join a fantastic team in Islington, London. The successful candidate must have NVQ4 in a relevant qualification, as well as previous experience of working with children, young people and their families.

As a Young Persons Advisor, you will achieve good outcomes for children looked after and those leaving care, to significantly reduce the gaps in outcomes between them and those within the general population.

Duties as a Young Persons Advisor:

* Building effective relationships with the children, young people and their carers within your caseload, using a strengths-based approach to achieve this
* To have a thoughtful and relationship-based approach, working collaboratively with professionals, carers and parents to ensure trauma informed care is provided, recognising the support needs of all placements, to promote stability and permanence for all children and young people
* Being ambitious for every child to reach their potential in all aspects of their development including education, health and emotional wellbeing, from 0-25

Essential requirements of this Young Persons Advisor role:

* A relevant vocational qualification - at least to NVQ4
* Experience of working with young people, children and/or their families
* Ability to build relationships with children, young people and their families to deliver trauma informed interventions and help
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, national standards, policy and practice, including current issues in safeguarding and the provision of leaving care services
* Ability to liaise effectively with partner agencies, independent sector and voluntary providers in Islington in services to care leavers
* The legal right to work in the UK
