Principle Social Worker - Adult Community Team - Cornwall - £28ph   
Our client in Cornwall is looking for a principle social worker to join their Adults Community Team. The ideal Social Worker will be registered with the HCPC and have significant experience working with adults. The successful social worker will also have previous post qualified experience of social work, in local government, voluntary, independent sector and hospital experience. The post is within a team that offers a lot of support and is a great opportunity for the right individual to gain more skills.

As an Adults Community Social Worker you will have experience of:       
  • Carrying out reviews and assessments of the needs of people with learning disabilities against a criteria for service
  • Devising cost appropriate support plans then implement them
  • Previously working in a similar post qualified role 
  • Working with adults with learning disabilities   
  • Safeguarding and how it applies
  • Working with people within supported housing/living situations
  • Working to deadlines on a time limited focused project 
  • Negotiating with providers and families 
  • Putting in place personalised budgets 
  • Identifying alternative preventative services 
  • Working up individual support plans that identify support/care hours needed to meet specific outcomes 
As an Adults Community Social Worker you should have: 
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Experience supervising staff and carrying out supervisions 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and creatively with users
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work and manage time effectively
  • Able to work effectively with people at all levels within the organisation and from other agencies/disciplines
  • Commitment to the principles of partnership and of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
  • HCPC registration 
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving license
