Social worker - Youth Justice - Bedfordshire - £26 per hour

Our client in Bedfordshire is currently looking for an experienced Social Worker with Youth Justice experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Youth Justice team and experience working with Asset Plus.

Duties of the successful candidate include:

  • To act as the named person for the service user and other involved professionals and agencies to contact within the Department
  • To undertake whenever necessary the duties and responsibilities of a key worker and act in accordance with the Department’s procedures and agreed protocols with agency partners
  • To undertake assessments of young people using Asset and other assessment tools
  • To manage a case load in line with local policies designed to safeguard children and young
  • people, ensuring that statutory obligations are fulfilled
  • To undertake specific direct work with young people subject to bail supervision and
  • remand, ensuring that time spent in a secure environment is minimised
  • To prepare as necessary and appropriate, a range of reports for the Referral Panel, and Youth and Crown Courts that take into account all aspects of the young persons offending including risk of re-offending and criminogenic needs and propose appropriate level of scaled interventions.
  • To update and review assessments in line with National Standards using the Asset
  • framework

You MUST be:

  • A qualified Social Worker
  • HCPC Registered
  • Full UK licence holder
