 Our Client in Thatcham is looking for a Deputy Lead Social worker to join the team on a permanent basis   
They are offering a very competitive rate of £38,000 for the right candidate with previous experience within a similar role.

Typical responsibilities as Adults Mental Health Social Worker:   
  • Providing supervision to junior colleagues
  • A caseload with forensic patients detained under the Mental Health Act
  • Championing the Social Perspective on mental health and recovery
  • Deputising for the Lead Social Worker and providing support in managing a team
  • Undertaking social assessments of patients and care plan to address identified needs
  • Completing reports for CPAs, Mental Health Tribunals and Managers Hearings
  • Supporting patients in developing feasible plans for the future and working towards  discharge
  • Taking a lead role within the multi-disciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions
  • Liaising with a host of external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties, for example: MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police and Probation
  • Supporting carers and families of detained patients
  • Undertaking social assessments of patients and care plan to address identified needs
To apply for this Social Worker role, you must have:        
  • A good working knowledge of the relevant legislation - Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Act
  • Extensive experience of working in mental health and currently in a senior role
  • Be able to build effective working relationships with patients, their family members and carers
  • To able to write accurate and timely reports
  • To work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • To understand and champion the social perspective on mental health and recovery
