Social Worker - Referral & Assessment - Permanent - Merton - up to £40,887p/a

There is currently a vacancy for a social worker in the referral and assessment team in Merton. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an exciting, motivated and experienced team.

Your responsibilities as an R&A Social Worker include:

  • Managing a Children and Families caseload
  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the appropriate action/s
  • Ensuring that appropriate resources are deployed to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and their families
  • Working in partnership with other agencies (health, education, police, voluntary sector etc.) to ensure individuals and families receive a coordinated response and appropriate services in proportion to their assessed need
  • Employing a variety of evidence-based social work skills and methods in order to achieve specific objectives
  • Completing high-quality, robust assessments of need
  • Using the Single Assessment Process including the gathering and analysis of information to inform judgements about risk of harm to children and young people
  • Ensuring cases are promptly and effectively closed when appropriate to do so, under the direction of management
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records ensuring that the Council's client database is used appropriately and required actions are undertaken within reasonable timescales

As a Social Worker you MUST:

  • Have post-qualified experience 
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Be HCPC registered
