Social Worker - Children and Families Safeguarding Team - Powys - Up to £35 an hour

We are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker for a role based in Llandridnod Wells. As a Child Protection Social Worker you will be conducting Core Assessments and work with children who are the subject of Child Protection Plans whilst also taking on Court Work and managing cases where children are the subject of Care Proceedings. 

You will also work to safeguard children under the Child Protection or Court Frameworks. This requires staff who are skilled communicators and able to convey difficult information in clear terms to families, or describe complex cases and care plans succinctly in written form.

The Successful Safeguarding Social Worker will have experience of:    

  • Liaising with other clients, agencies and professionals 
  • Completing work with timescales 
  • Attending Court
  • Assessment, Child Protection, Children in Need 
  • Working with Public Law Outline (PLO) 
  • Care proceedings
  • Child and Family Assessment
  • Performing Section 47s
  • Child Protection Conferences
  • Looked after Children Reviews
  • Managing a diverse and complex caseload
  • Working under pressure
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding Policy and Procedure
  • Report writing and written communications 
  • Prioritising and managing caseloads 
  • Working with parents, families, carers and networks to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people 
  • Developing and maintaining, and working collaboratively with, a network of internal and external colleagues 

As a Social Worker within the Safeguarding Team you MUST be: 

  • HCPC registered 
  • Eligible to work in the UK 
  • Have a full license
