Senior Practitioner - Looked After Children - North East London - Up to £41,025 per annum

My client in North East London requires a senior practitioner on a permanent basis to join their Looked After Children team. My client's new Corporate Parenting Service pulls together the case work and the provision to focus on permanence for every Looked After Child. The social work units, called Practice Support Groups (PSG), will be 0 – 25 years, reducing the transfers and handovers that children and their families hate.

As part of the PSG reporting to the Advanced practitioner and Team Manager, to manage and support colleagues, a caseload involving the assessment of needs, determining the appropriate support plan / care package and ensuring its implementation to maintain or improve wellbeing.

Duties as a Senior Practitioner on Looked After Children:

  • To undertake assessments, determine care packages/support plans and manage a range of the most complex caseload to maintain or improve the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Professionally support other colleagues
  • Conduct statutory and / or complex / specialist assessments of the more vulnerable children and young people and to determine intervention / referral to the appropriate service
  • To provide leadership and professional guidance to social workers
  • Plan, deliver and oversee programmes or packages of care and/or support or other interventions for a complex caseload. Monitor and where appropriate review cases

Requirements of this role:

  • HCPC registration 
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
