Deputy Team Manager - Referral & Assessment Team - Permanent - Harrow - £41,430 - £44,253p/a

Harrow Council’s children and families division is looking for a deputy team manager to join their children and young people services team. You will be working on the referral and assessment team and will be responsible for deputising for the team manager as and when necessary. Therefore, it is essential that you have strong, statutory experience of working in front line children's services team as well as experience of supervising social workers (even in small numbers).

Duties of this Deputy TM in an R&A team include:

  • Ensuring good outcomes for children and young people in Harrow
  • Providing effective day to day management and support 
  • Providing reflective supervision, direction, guidance and decision making in complex cases
  • Ensuring the highest standards of social work practice are provided to children and young people
  • Being a visible member of the management team and to contributing to the strategic policy and procedural developments
  • Supporting the team manager in ensuring the highest professional standards of practice are evidenced through rigorous quality assurance processes
  • Being responsible for the day to day management of social workers and social care staff including students

You will need to be:

  • HCPC registered 
  • A qualified social worker
  • Experience at a senior social work level
  • Knowledgeable in the relevant legislation
