Independent Reviewing Officer - Fostering Team - Tameside - £35 per hour

A new opportunity has arisen for a post within the Fostering Team for a Reviewing Officer in Tameside.  

The role will require the candidate to chair Tameside foster carers’ annual reviews meetings, providing independent oversight and quality assurance of Tameside foster carers who look after children and young people under Fostering Regulations. As well as carry out the role of Panel Adviser under Fostering Regulations and to ensure that statutory obligations and directorate procedures are met and followed. 

The ideal candidate must be a qualified social worker with experience.

Responsibilities as a Independent Reviewing Officer:

  • Consulting with children, chairing review meetings, attending and chairing any meeting in conjunction with the review of a child's case and occasionally chairing other meetings within the Safeguarding Unit
  • Monitor the Local Authority's performance in relation to a child's case, checking that the agreed actions are being implemented and in so doing, ensuring that the Local Authority fulfils its duties as a Corporate Parent.
  • Work effectively in partnership with personnel within the Local Authority, key partner agencies, children and young people, their parents and their carers to ensure the coordination and delivery of integrated services which comply with relevant legislation, best practice and promote user centred services

As a Independent Reviewing Officer you will:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker
  • Hold HCPC registration
  • Have previous post-qualified experience
