Social Worker - Assessment and Intervention Team - West Sussex - £29,017 to £42,122p/a + £3000 retention

A social worker is needed for an assessment and intervention team in West Sussex. You will become part of a fast paced, busy and supportive duty team completing child and family assessments, section 47s, Child Protection and Child in Need work whilst planning for permanence from day one. You will undertake assessments and interventions with children and families.

Duties as an Assessment and Intervention Social Worker include:

  • Acting as a professional representative for the service
  • Delivering a service and operating in accordance with the appropriate National Occupational Standards for Social Work
  • Managing a caseload under regular supervision
  • Preparing for, and working with individuals, families, carers, groups and communities to assess their needs and circumstances
  • Participating in a help desk/duty system
  • Assessing needs, risks and options taking into account legal and other requirements
  • Working effectively in partnership with other staff and voluntary agencies
  • Reporting any allegation or suspicions of abuse or potential abuse of a vulnerable person to an immediate manager or supervisor
  • Contributing to safeguarding investigations and child protection planning where appropriate

You must be:

  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
