Supervising Social Worker - Independent Fostering Agency - East London - Up to £40,000 per annum

A permanent vacancy for a Supervising Social Worker has become available at an Independent Fostering Agency in East London. The main purpose of this role is to work under the Children Act 1989. Fostering Regulations 2011, and other relevant legislation involving Children in Need. Candidates must have demonstrable knowledge and recent experience, as well as some supervisory experience.

As a Supervising Social Worker you will have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989; Fostering Regulation 2011 and regulations and guidance such as new assessment framework
  • Knowledge of the range of services which are available to children and families and their organisational framework
  • Knowledge of child development and family functioning dynamics
  • Knowledge of methods of social work intervention
  • Ability to devise and implement quality assurance systems for the team

As a Supervising Social Worker you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing foster carers and families
  • Following and applying relevant internal policies and procedures in working with foster carers and vulnerable children, including children on the child protection register
  • Liaising with other divisions were necessary e.g. council departments, NHS trusts, schools, carers etc
  • Maintaining high levels of professional practice within your own workload
  • Undertaking appropriate training to maintain knowledge of changes to procedure, legislation etc
  • Promoting Equal Opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of work
Essential Requirements:
  • Social work qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
