Safeguarding and Review Manager (IRO) - Children in Care - Herefordshire - up to £39.07p/h

Herefordshire Council are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic safeguarding and review manager. The role is made up of an independent reviewing officer and a child protection chair. The caseload will primarily be children in care.

Candidates will need to have prior, recent experience in either of the combined roles or substantial, relevant experience as a social worker in order to fulfill the requirements. You must have a proven track record and commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people through scrutiny, challenge and ongoing monitoring.

Duties of a joint IRO and CP chair role include:

  • Working mostly with Children in Care cases
  • Reviewing packages of care
  • Chairing conferences
  • Understanding complex multi-agency procedures
  • Safeguarding children

Essential requirements: 

  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK 
  • Have a full UK license
