Team Manager - Looked After Children - Luton - £38p/h

Luton's LAC team are in need of a team manager. Luton Council have been piloting a new way of working within the LAC service: the 0-13 service will be joining the long term LAC team (0-18). The new set up allows the LAC service to be split between 0-18 and 18+. The successful candidate will need the ability to formalise this service alongside the service manager.

Candidates will need to have had experience of managing an LAC team and be aware that they will be managing a larger team consisting of the 0-18 service. However, they will have the assistance of 2 deputy team managers.

Your duties as an LAC Team Manager will include:

  • Managing the day to day operations of the team 
  • Providing assessments, care planning, child protection and key working 
  • Delivering this within the scope of the Children Act 1989 and related legislation
  • Contributing to borough wide services with professional knowledge of an area of specialism
  • Providing specialist intervention services throughout Luton
  • Making high-risk decisions concerning the safeguarding of children
  • Establishing the appropriate level of need for children and young people

Essential requirements:

  • HCPC registered 
  • Eligible to work in the UK  
  • A full UK licence holder
