Independent Reviewing Officer - IRO - Gloucestershire - £41 p/h

Based in Gloucester

Our client in Gloucestershire is recruiting for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer - IRO to work in a Child Protection service. 

The post holder will be responsible for effectively chairing reviews. They will be required to produce contemporaneous records along with clearly identifying good and poor practice across the service. They must demonstrate good communication with children and professionals and possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to robustly challenge where necessary. 

It is essential that candidates have previous IRO experience.

Responsibilities as a Independent Reviewing Officer:

  • Consulting with children
  • Chairing review meetings
  • Attending and chairing any meeting in conjunction with the review of a child's case
  • Occasionally chairing other meetings within the Safeguarding Unit
  • Work effectively in partnership with personnel within the Local Authority
  • Key partner agencies, children and young people, their parents and their carers to ensure the coordination and delivery of integrated services which comply with relevant legislation, best practice and promote user-centred services

Essential Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Post-qualified experience
