Senior Social Worker - Referral & Assessment Team - Permanent - Wandsworth - up to £40,653p/a + bonuses & welcome payment

Wandsworth Council are looking for a senior social worker to become part of their referral and assessment team within children's services. You will be expected to deliver the best possible support available for Wandsworth's children and young people. You will focus on residents and service users to ensure they receive the highest standards of social care provision.

Your responsibilities as an R&A Senior Social Worker will be to:

  • Act as the lead professional in statutory cases
  • Work on child protection, care proceedings and looked after children cases
  • Undertake the full range of social work tasks with children in need and their families
  • Assess, plan, implement and review casework and actions
  • Bring together and co-ordinate the team around the child to ensure a multidisciplinary approach
  • Establish and develop collaborative working with allied health and social care practitioners
  • Promote and model effective working arrangements with schools, children’s centres and other settings
  • Provide professional support and advice when required

Essential requirements:

  • Having applied knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Being confident in the APIR approach
  • HCPC registration
  • Social work qualification
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Valid UK license
