Independent Reviewing Officer - IRO - Permanent - Full Time - Buckinghamshire County - £47,631 - £52,871 per annum 
            
An exciting vacancy has become available in Buckinghamshire for an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO). Our client will consider candidates with extensive post qualified experience including experience in a supervisory role. 
 
If you have experience of working with Children Looked After and Child Protection at a Senior Practitioner level, this is the perfect opportunity to springboard your career. 
 
As a Independent Reviewing Officer your main task will be to review and monitor care plans and to tackle delays in care planning. You’ll also chair statutory reviews and alert managers to any issues. Though rigour is vital, it’s also important that you can work collaboratively, offering a constructive critical perspective.

Duties as a Independent Reviewing Officer include: 
  • To be the allocated IRO for Looked after children, chairing all their statutory Reviews.  
  • Monitor effectiveness of Care Plans for children by inspecting them at regular intervals and bring to the notice of the relevant manager any shortfalls in practice or resources.   
  • Provide appropriate challenge to local authority planning for individual children according to the requirements of the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review regulations 2011 , and relevant government guidance.   
  • Be a member of relevant multi-agency and internal Children's Services working groups, as required, chairing such groups where appropriate. 
  • Contribute to training both for Children's Social Care staff, and staff from other Agencies and the voluntary sector as required.       
You will be:
  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A full UK license holder
