Social Worker - Children's Hospital Team - Permanent - Wandsworth - up to £38,994p/a

An excellent opportunity has become available for a social worker to join Wandsworth Council on a permanent, full time basis. We require a social worker to join a hospital team as part of Wandsworth's children's services. We are looking for a qualified social worker who has experience of writing child and family assessments as well as experience working with the family court system.

In a Children's Hospital Social Work role, you will be:

  • Carrying out safeguarding work with Wandsworth children who are an inpatient's or who present in A&E
  • Undertaking pre-birth assessments of expectant parents across the borough
  • Making timely assessments to determine the needs of children and their families
  • Working as part of a duty system
  • Assessing the needs of unborn children and remaining involved until after they are born
  • Where concerns are significant, working with children and unborn children on Child Protection Plans and initiating family court proceedings when needed
  • Representing the department at weekly meetings with the safeguarding team and nursing staff
As a Social Worker, you will have:
  • Good assessment and report writing skills
  • A social work qualification
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Registration with the HCPC
