Social Worker - Looked after Children Team - Permanent - Sandwell - £29,055 - £33,136p/a

We currently require a social worker to fill an open vacancy with Sandwell Children's Trust in a looked after children (LAC) team. This is a great opportunity to join a progressive and engaging trust. They are committed to your continuous learning and development and dedicate 15 days per year to your professional development and also offer learning placements of up to 6 months to expand your knowledge.

The main duties of an LAC Social Worker are as follows:

  • Completing statutory visits to looked after children
  • Ensuring their needs are met and their voice is heard and incorporated into all planning
  • Completing relevant and up to date assessments which informs planning
  • Working as part of a team and being part of a duty rota system
  • Completing court statements and attending court where necessary
  • Updating ICS system to ensure all relevant plans and actions are evidenced
  • Ensuring written evidence of all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Facilitating and providing evidence for care planning meetings
  • Ensuring PEP reviews are attended regularly
  • Working closely with family and other professionals to ensure the holistic needs are met
  • Completing of pathway assessment for children due to transition to leaving care team

As a qualified Social Worker, you must have:

  • A social work qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Post-qualified experience in children's services
