Team Manager - Leaving Care Team - Manchester  - £35p/h

Manchester Council are looking for an experienced children's services team manager to join their leaving care team. The leaving care team is part of the Integrated Prevention & Earliest Help System who work with children, families and young people to help ensure that every child and young person is supported. The service supports care leavers and young people in care aged 16-21 but this may be increased up to 25 in some circumstances.

Your duties as the Leaving Care Team Manager will include:

  • Effectively lead, manage & develop the young carers team
  • Being responsible for delivering & developing a first class service across the county 
  • Co-ordinating key & high profile pieces of work through projects for the service
  • Actively promote the principles of rights, independence, choice & inclusion 
  • Negotiating solutions across wide areas of the business
  • Providing training & recommendations to colleagues
  • Developing changes/improvements to business plan which will have a direct impact
  • Recruiting new members & ensuring their proper induction 
  • Accounting for a team budget relating to staffing, resources & forward planning of service needs

You MUST be:

  • HCPC registered 
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Experienced in providing supervision and managing a social work team
  • Qualified as a social worker
