Independent Reviewing Officer - Children & Families - Liverpool - £35p/h

Liverpool Council are looking to hire an IRO for their children and families service. You will act as an Independent Reviewing Officer within the framework of the City Council’s Quality Assurance Framework and Systems with the intention of delivering improved outcomes for children.

Responsibilities as an Independent Reviewing Officer:

  • Consulting with children
  • Chairing review meetings
  • Attending and chairing any meeting in conjunction with the review of a child's case
  • Occasionally chairing other meetings within the safeguarding unit
  • Monitoring the local authority's performance in relation to a child's case
  • Checking that the agreed actions are being implemented
  • Working effectively in partnership with personnel within the local authority, key partner agencies, children and young people, their parents and their carers
  • Complying with relevant legislation

An IRO suitable for this role will have:

  • A social work qualification
  • Prior experience of IRO work 
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
