Southend Council are in need of an experienced social work manager to lead their mental health strategy for the Borough. You will need to have recent experience of effectively managing a social work team as well as extensive experience working within adult's mental health services.

As a Mental Health Strategy Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development/implementation of an effective strategy to meet the needs of people within Southend
  • Optimise ways in which service users can contribute to and influence their community
  • Work closely with service users and other stakeholders, particularly, Housing, Culture, Health, the third sector and providers, to ensure a 'whole systems' approach
  • Drive improvements in performance; ensure compliance with national benchmarks
  • Analyse the effectiveness of current service delivery/care pathways, especially social care, housing and culture
  • Identify, prioritise and recommend approaches to better meet needs
  • Lead the development, consultation, planning and implementation of a 'whole systems' strategy
  • Develop service specifications, negotiate and manage change to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Develop approaches to improve service user engagement

You must be:

  • Highly experienced in adult mental health team/s
  • Experienced in a social work management role
  • A qualified social worker
  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Eligible to work in the UK
