Service Manager - Children's Assessment Team - North London - £52,092 - £57,492p/a

Our client in North London has an exclusive role for an experienced Service Manager to head their children's services assessment team. They are looking for a qualified social worker to manage and develop the assessment service that provides short term statutory child protection. 

You will work closely with the Head of Service for Children in Need of Support & Protection, partner agencies and Early Help. Our client are in need of someone who is creative, innovative and motivated to safeguarding vulnerable children. You will be responsible for 5 direct reports Assessment Team Managers, 5 Senior Practitioners, 20 Social Workers and 1 Domestic Violence Senior Practitioner. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to lead and take responsibility for the further strategic development of short term child protection.

Your duties as a Children's Team Service Manager will include:

  • Managing team managers, senior practitioners and social workers
  • Liaising with other managers from children’s services teams
  • Ensuring a high standard of social work practice
  • Supervising and supporting of team managers
  • Working with other senior management, developing and implementing improvement plans
  • Introducing effective performance management frameworks to ensure improvements can be monitored and monthly reports provided
  • Chairing strategy meetings 

Essential requirements:

  • To be an experienced service manager
  • To be experienced in child protection
  • To be able to work effectively with partner agencies
  • A social work qualification & HCPC registration
