Social Worker - Awaken Team - Blackpool - £35p/h

Blackpool Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced full-time qualified social worker to work within their children's services Awaken Team. Blackpool’s ‘Awaken’ team is expanding in order to address the increasing challenges that children face with regard to exploitation. The Awaken team deals with a range of complex issues around child exploitation such as CSE, child trafficking, county lines, radicalisation, FGM and missing children.

You do not need to have direct child exploitation experience however you are required to have experience in front line children and families services.

As a CSE Social Worker, you will need to:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with children and young people suffering or likely to suffer harm through sexual exploitation
  • Develop effective needs lead victim profiles; trigger plans and victims engagement plans
  • Carry out complex joint investigations with police colleagues and other professionals
  • Make sure that plans, agreements and reviewing and monitoring arrangements are effective in reducing risk and vulnerabilities
  • Ensure that multi-agency risk assessments are regularly undertaken and reviewed, to inform effective SMART planning
  • Identify whole-family needs and be involved with others in examining strategies
  • Develop links with other agencies across the Borough, including universal services such as GPs and Schools
  • Effectively engage in established and newly developed multi-agency forums to share information and plan coordinated multi-agency approaches

Essential requirements:

  • HCPC registered  
  • Strong, statutory experience of working in children's services
  • Eligible to work in the UK  
  • A full UK license holder
