Senior Practitioner -  Joint Child Protection Investigation Team - Permanent - Hertfordshire - up to £44,052p/a

This vacancy is for an experienced children's services social worker in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent permanent opportunity.

The Joint Child Protection Investigation Team (JCPIT) works primarily on cases where from the outset, it appears that a crime may have been committed against a child by their parent/carer and therefore requires investigating by Police and Social Care jointly.

A Senior Practitioner will take on the following duties:

  • Assessing and providing services to children in need within the framework of the appropriate legislation, regulations, departmental procedures and child care policy
  • Ensuring that services are efficiently and effectively provided
  • Liaising as necessary with other divisions
  • Maintaining high standards of professional practice
  • You may be responsible for supervision of some staff
  • Maintaining professional standards of practice
  • Making comprehensive assessments
  • Working within the Borough's Child Protection guidelines to undertake key worker responsibilities

Essential requirements:

  • Social work qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Post-qualified experience
