Team Manager - First Response Team - Permanent - Merton - £51,969 - £53,454p/a

We are currently looking for a Team Manger to join a first response team in the London borough Merton. The Team Manager, under the direction of the Service Manager, is responsible for key service strands within Children's Social Care & Youth Inclusion. They will ensure their development and day-to-day operational delivery, working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the objectives of the service, to fulfil quality assurance standards and targets, and to monitor performance.

Duties as a First Response Team Manager include:

  • Ensuring assessments and plans are completed within timescales
  • Making sure that good quality reports are prepared and presented in a timely fashion
  • Taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of Merton children 
  • Promoting a high standard of recording by workers and quality assuring the standard of recording via the supervision process 
  • Ensuring that the professional development needs of all staff are met
  • Ensure that all appraisals are completed to an appropriate standard and within the set timescale, that training needs assessment are carried out and that new staff have appropriate induction
  • Ensure vulnerable children and their families and/or carers, receive a high quality and responsive service as set out by the London Borough of Merton's policies and procedures and enshrined in the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and other relevant legislation relating to Every Child Matters
You MUST be:
  • HCPC registered 
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A qualified social worker
  • Experienced as a manager in a children's services team
