Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Leader with in the West Locality Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be based in Southend with it’s traditional seaside living which makes it a great place to live and work. This diverse and busy town has great public parks and leisure activities as well as excellent travel links as it is accessible via 2 train lines form Liverpool St and Fenchurch Street.

The locality team are undergoing a large transformation programme across adult social care to develop person-centred pathways and practice and you will play an important part in this.

As a Practice Leader within a Locality Team, your responsibilities will consist of:

  • Developing person-centred pathways and practice
  • Helping to deliver person-centred care assessments and support to adults
  • Working alongside health colleagues to prevent adults from being admitted to long term residential care and supporting independence within the community
  • Supporting adults and their carers as a ‘change agent’ to build on their strengths, assets and abilities to self-manage
  • Supervising a team of qualified Social Workers (including other professionals as required) and other support staff
  • Promoting critical reflection and lead in group work to ensure that the work environment is safe, responsive, flexible and emotionally capable
The successful candidate will have:
  • A social work qualification
  • A commitment to best practice
  • Experience leading and supervising a team
  • HCPC registration
