Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Team - Permanent - Southend-on-Sea - up to £36,153p/a

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are seeking a qualified social worker to undertake supervising social worker responsibilities on a permanent, full time basis. The distribution of the hours/days to be worked throughout the week is negotiable. You be based within the Fostering Team which is a friendly and supportive team, based alongside the mainstream childcare teams. Possessing good interpersonal and administrative skills, the successful candidate will have regular formal supervision as well as access to informal support and guidance from colleague supervising social workers.

Your responsibilities as a Supervising Social Worker will include:

  • Recruiting, training, assessing, supervising and supporting Foster Carers in their role
  • Ensuring the highest professional standards
  • Having good overall knowledge of relevant children's and fostering legislation, regulations and practice methods
  • Keeping on top of your professional development
  • Working in the evening when required (occasion) 

Essential requirements:

  • To be qualified as a social worker 
  • HCPC registration
  • Prior experience of working in a fostering team
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
