Social Worker - Fostering Team - Permanent - Wandsworth - up to £38,994p/a

Wandsworth Council are looking to add a qualified social worker to their fostering team. Duties of a Fostering Team Social Worker involve:

  • Completing from F assessments
  • Conducting LAC reviews
  • Advocating on behalf of the service user
  • Matching and placing children
  • Attending meetings and liaise with other agencies and professionals
  • Attending case conferences
  • Acting as the lead professional in statutory cases that require a qualified social worker, including child protection, care proceedings and looked after children cases
  • Promoting and modelling effective working arrangements with schools, children’s centres and other settings
To succeed, you will need:

  • A relevant social work qualification and HCPC membership
  • Experience of working across voluntary and statutory agencies
  • To be confident in APIR and understand the needs of children and young people 
  • Applied knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
