Practice Manager - Looked After Children Team - Permanent - Bognor Regis - up to £48,339p/a

West Sussex County Council are seeking a Practice Manager to join their Looked After Children team based in Bognor Regis. The successful candidate will be excited to be responsible for a team achieving positive outcomes for children and young people across West Sussex.

The team works with children remaining in long term care where it is not safe for them to return home as well as children who may be placed for adoption and children leaving care.

As a Practice Manager you will be passionate about ensuring the most vulnerable children are supported to achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for leading a team of social workers and support staff by motivating and inspiring, providing expert supervision and championing best practice.

Your duties as a Practice Manager include:

  • Providing reflective supervision
  • Teaching and completing the practice assessment of newly qualified social workers
  • Supporting the continued professional development of social workers
  • Providing quality assurance over social work placements
  • Supporting practice educators working with students in the wider service
  • Leading and developing the behaviour and practice of the academy team members 
  • Ensuring high quality and effective social work practice    

You will need to have:

  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • A social work qualification
  • A practice educator qualification
  • Experience leading a social work team as a senior, ATM or TM
