Team Manager - Children's Care Management Service - Permanent - Dudley - £45,072 to £48,414p/a

We are looking for an experienced Children's Social Work Team Manager to join Dudley's Care Management Service. In this role, you will have responsibility for one of the five care management teams and will be responsible for ensuring children and their families receive a high quality service through Child in Need, Child Protection and PLO planning.

You will have an assigned administrative co-ordinator and direct access to the Centre for Professional Practice team, with a dedicated advanced practitioner aligned to support improvement across all of care management.

As a Care Management Team Manager your responsibilities will be to:

  • Have full responsibility for the delivery of services to children, young people and their families
  • Make highly complex decisions
  • Manage the day to day operations of the team including the allocation of workloads
  • Provide high quality supervision
  • Chair and participate in working groups and task groups
  • Provide assessments, care planning, child protection and key working 
  • Deliver this within the scope of the Children Act 1989 and related legislation
  • Contribute to borough wide services with professional knowledge of an area of specialism and the development of the service
  • Provide specialist intervention services
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies within the children's and voluntary divisions

You are required to have:

  • Management experience of a children's social work team
  • A social work qualification
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and guidance
  • Registration with the HCPC
