Social Worker - Child Protection Team - Permanent - Somerset - £29,055 - £33,136p/a

Somerset Council are looking for a Social Worker, with previous statutory experience, to join one of their Child Protection teams.

Offices are based in Bridgewater (North), Yeovil (South), Mendip (East) & Tauton (West) areas of Somerset.

As a Child Protection Social Worker, you will need to have experience of:

  • Liaising with other professionals
  • Holding complex cases
  • Working with children on Child Protection Plans, Looked after Children and Children in Need
  • Child protection and care proceedings
  • Attending court
  • Court reports
  • Working with new Public Law Outline (PLO)
  • Section 47s
  • Core assessments
  • Child protection meetings
  • Case conferences
  • Attending LAC reviews  

Essential skills / qualifications:

  • Social work degree or equivalent
  • Post-qualified experience in children's social services
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
