We have partnered with Sandwell Trust in the West Midlands to provide experienced Team Managers to their fostering service. We are on the lookout for two talented Team Managers to join Sandwell's Fostering service;one to lead the Connected Persons team and the other to lead the Fostering Assessments team.

Your duties as the Team Manager of a Fostering Service will include:

  • Leading on the provision of care, you’ll be a supervisor, mentor, collaborator and advisor
  • Providing the highest level of professional service within care management and be responsible for advice, supervision, decision, support and delegated functions
  • Providing effective management support and individual supervision and guidance to a team of social work staff
  • Ensuring that the allocation of work within the team meets the needs of the children and families within the authority and be responsible for the recruitment and appointment of social workers and other relevant staff in the service area
  • Initiating and chairing inter agency meetings and core groups for particular children, monitoring the performance of agreed tasks for all participants

Essential requirements of this role:

  • Excellent management skills
  • Significant experience in Children’s Social Work Services
  • Knowledge of the latest policy and guidance around children’s social care and safeguarding
  • A strong understanding of financial and resource management
  • To be a qualified social worker and registered with the HCPC
