Gloucestershire County Council are looking for a skilled social worker to join their Children's Services Safeguarding Team. As part of their commitment to drive forward improvement, significant investment has allowed for a number of new social worker posts across the service. 

They will consider candidates with a range of experience, which makes this a great opportunity. Gloucestershire are determined to work hard to keep children and families at the centre of everything they do, ensuring staff have the time to get to know these families and provide the best intervention.

Offices are based in Gloucester, Forest of Dean, Stroud, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.

As a Children's Safeguarding Social Worker, you will:

  • Conduct core assessments
  • Work to safeguard children under the child protection or court frameworks
  • Work with children who are the subject of child protection plans
  • Take on court work
  • Manage cases where children are the subject of care proceedings

As a Children's social worker, you must be:

  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A qualified social worker with some experience in children's services
  • Completed the ASYE year
