Social Worker - Court and Permanence Team - Permanent - Southend-On-Sea - £31,371 to £36,876p/a

Our client in Southend-On-Sea is looking to add a social worker to their court and permanence team. For this role, you will need post-qualified experience of working with children in a social work capacity as well as good skills and knowledge around attending court and writing court reports.

In this Court and Permanence Social Work role, you will:

  • Provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people
  • Undertake responsibility for some areas of work in the day to day running of the team including supervision of identified team members
  • Investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases
  • Prepare and submit written reports as and when required, including statements and care plans for care proceedings in the Family Proceedings, County and High Courts
  • Recommended expenditure within strict criteria and policy
  • Represent the team, group or department on working parties and at other meetings as required
  • Where appropriate acting as the duty worker, responding to queries and issues on all cases currently being managed by the team
  • Use ICT as required to maintain accurate case records, and to be able to report on key performance management data

You will need to be:

  • A qualified social worker 
  • Experienced in court work
  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
