Bromley Council are in need of a team manager to lead their child protection team. As a team manager, you will be taking responsibility for the overall effective service delivery as well as taking steps to improve Bromley's current service to children. You will need to have prior experience of working as a children's team manager in social services.

As a Team Manager in a Children's Services Team, you will:

  • Manage, supervise and develop staff to enhance performance
  • Develop and provide services which are culturally sensitive and empowering for all service users
  • Develop new services, where necessary, with partner agencies 
  • Initiate, plan, manage and implement change 
  • Liaise and negotiate effectively across agency boundaries in order to provide effective support 
  • Interpret and analyse information and problems
  • Establish Quality Assurance and Performance Management frameworks
  • Ensure that timely appraisal, supervision, support and direction are provided to staff
  • Promote equality and anti-discriminatory practice, and recognise the importance of equality issues for both staff and service users
  • Work flexibly and creatively and show a willingness to work some evenings to meet service demand (usually by prior arrangement)

Essential requirements:

  • Managerial experience in children's social services
  • A social work qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
