Senior Social Worker - MASH and DES - Permanent - Waltham Forest - £38,994 - £40,887p/a

We are looking for a qualified and skilled social worker to join Waltham Forest's children's social services. You will be working in their MASH service, however you will work from the Disability Enablement Service (DES). You are required to have prior, post-qualified experience of working with children who have special educational disabilities.

Your duties working as a Senior Social Worker in this integrated team will include:

  • Be part of developing and supporting, through working in MASH, a comprehensive service for Disabled Children and Young People and their families
  • Taking on some supervisory responsibility for social workers
  • Achieving independence, choice and the best possible results for service users
  • Working in accordance with guidelines set out by local management
  • Making appropriate use of statutory, independent and voluntary resources
  • Developing positive relationships 
  • Providing timely and good advice to the families of service users

Requirements of the role:

  • Degree in social work or equivalent qualification
  • HCPC registration 
  • Qualified experience of Special Educational Needs and Disability code of practice
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
