Social Worker - Adolescent Intervention & Prevention Team - Permanent - Southend - up to £36,876p/a

Our client is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and competent qualified social worker for a fixed term position that will run until April 2020. Within this challenging and rewarding position you will be required to work within the Adolescent Intervention and Prevention Team whose primary function is to work with child victims at risk of sexual/criminal exploitation and those missing from home or school. The team are looking to recruit a motivated individual with a diverse range of skills who is able to demonstrate a flexible approach and clear understanding of exploitation and who is motivated to work with adolescents.

Your role responsibilities as an Adolescent's Social Worker include:

  • Working with children and young people who are at risk of, or experiencing, sexual exploitation, associated with gangs and at risk of exploitation and children & young people missing from home, care or education
  • Providing professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people
  • Preparing and submitting written reports as and when required, including statements and care plans for care proceedings in the Family Proceedings, County and High Courts
  • Attending conferences, reviews and court as required for each case presenting the Council with professionalism and integrity

Essential requirements:

  • To be a qualified social worker
  • To have worked with young adults in a social worker capacity
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
