Southend-On-Sea Borough Council are looking to recruit an experienced Probation Officer or Qualified Social Worker for a part time fixed term 1 year contract for their Youth Offending Team.

Southend Youth Offending is in need of a passionate and highly motivated front line practitioner to join their established, friendly multi-agency team, to work with young people and their families. This is a 18 hours per week 1 year fixed term contract and the hours are flexible.

To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrable experience of:

  • Working with children, young people and their families
  • Gathering and analysing information, completing assessments and writing reports in a timely manner
  • Creating, in conjunction with the young person and their families, a bespoke intervention plan which addresses all areas of need and is regularly reviewed to ensure effectiveness
  • Attending professionals meetings and provide clear and concise information
  • Knowledge of Court Orders for young people
  • Working at Court, writing PSR's and completing Asset Plus
  • Providing one to one or group interventions to young people
  • Keeping good and accurate records

Essential requirements:

  • To be a qualified social worker or probation officer with the relevant qualifications
  • HCPC registration if you are a applying as a social worker
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Asset Plus training and knowledge in Children's / Youth Offending Services
