Senior Social Worker - Support and Protection - Cumbria - £42 per hour

A senior social worker is required in the Support and Protection team in Cumbria. They are offering £42 per hour for the ideal candidate. The successful candidate will be managing a defined caseload. The social worker is responsible for working effectively with children, young people and families/carers to achieve positive change and improved outcomes. This includes enquiry, assessment, purposeful intervention through direct work and review in relation to child protection, child in need and children looked after, achieving permanency through care for children in care.

Duties of the Role:

  • Undertake activity in line with statutory requirements, legislation, procedures & guidance
  • Contribute to safeguarding investigations and child protection planning where appropriate
  • Complete reports to a high quality standard and within timescale 
  • Undertake social work assessments that are purposeful, timely and of high quality
  • Attend, and make relevant preparations for, any meetings/reviews in regard to case planning for children
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping (including electronic databases/client records) 
  • Facilitate the participation of parents, children & young people
  • Prepare for, and work with individuals, families, carers, groups and communities to assess their needs and circumstances
Essential Requirements:
  • Social work qualification
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Post-qualified experience
