Team Manager - Fostering Service - Swindon - £41p/h

Swindon Council are looking for a Social Work qualified Team Manager to join their Fostering service. In this role, you will be required to act as the Ofsted Registered Manager of the Fostering Service and will therefore be responsible for developing and providing a high quality Fostering service.

You will be supported by three Assistant Team Managers who each manage a small team of social workers divided into: recruitment and assessment, support & supervision of approved carers and permanence assessment team which includes private fostering assessment and support.

Your duties as a Team Manager will include:

  • Managing the operation of an effective referral and allocation system
  • Acting as agency advisor to the fostering panel
  • Providing formal, professional supervision to staff on a monthly basis as a minimum
  • Monitoring performance, standards and quality of work
  • Ensuring that the fostering services acts as an integral part of children's services
  • Ensuring the recruitment, assessment, training and supervision of foster carers
  • Actively managing complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Overseeing budget allocation for the team, authorising payments to an agreed level, ensuring that expenditure is kept within the available budget
  • Acting as a member of placement & resources management team, attending meetings and contributing to decision/policy making
  • Driving forward new initiatives to meet a changing demand in the fostering service

Essential requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • Qualified as a social worker
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Previous experience as a fostering manager
