Team Manager - Children's Independent Reviewing Service - Permanent - Waltham Forest - £53,544 - £56,682p/a

In Waltham Forest, services are being transformed through a new operating model across children’s services, adults’ social care, public health and housing which empowers the whole workforce. In social care specifically, this means bringing some teams or functions together in order to provide the best services to residents.

This is the context that the new role of Team Manager for the Children’s Reviewing Service will be working within. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and continuing to develop the independent reviewing of: children and young people’s care experience, fostering annual reviews and overnight short break reviews.

Your duties as the Team Manager of this Reviewing Service will include the following:

  • Ensuring the view of children, young people and their families are represented at all levels within the service (individual planning, service design, delivery and evaluation)
  • Analysing and identifying performance trends
  • Monitoring the performance of the local authority and making recommendations for improvements
  • Holding to account persons who fail to carry out agreed actions
  • Ensuring an effective reviewing service for children in care which contributes to service wide, continuous improvements
  • Promoting learning as part of practice improvement and change management

Essential requirements:

  • To be an experienced and skilled Social Work Manager with a track record of managing within children’s services or independent reviewing services
  •  The flexibility and confidence to transfer these skills to the Think Family approach in Waltham Forest
  • HCPC registration and eligibility to work in the UK
