Liaison and Diversion Practitioner - Mental Health - Barking & Dagenham - £28 - £30 per hour 

We have a new opportunity available in Barking and Dagenham for a qualified Social Worker to work as a Liaison and Diversion Practitioner. 

In this role you will screen and assessing people in the cells in the court and produce report from this (got templates, with specific areas that need to be covered in the report etc). You will be working within a court, assessing between 2-4 people a day. Not managing case load as such, refer them on and follow up occasional. Previous mental health experience is preferable.

Responsibilities as a Liaison Practitioner:    

  • Attending the court to carrying out assessments
  • Screen for vulnerabilities - mental health, social care needs, housing, employment, autism, LD and safeguarding issues etc
  • The aim is to then inform the court and probation service of the assessment so this will have an impact on their decisions
  • Afterwards - expected to generate referrals to relevant services and follow up briefly to make sure these referrals have on through

Experience required as a Liaison Practitioner:
  • Previously worked in a fast pace role 
  • Need to be able to build rapport quickly and able to deal with complex needs
  • IT competent
  • Able to professionally and effectively liaise with other agencies
  • Gain consent
  • Able to work autonomously

You MUST be:

  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Qualified as a Social Worker
