Consultant Social Worker - Children in Care – Northamptonshire - Salary from £37,000 per annum

The Children's Services at Northamptonshire are in an exciting period of significant transformation; they will become a standalone Trust which will deliver services for two new unitary authorities across the county. They are currently recruiting an energetic and passionate Consultant Social Worker to develop high quality services. 

The Consultant Social Workers are non-case holding and will provide support and mentoring to social workers in the team. The role may incorporate supervision and support of Family Support Worker and Life story Workers. The Consultant Social Workers will be practice champions for Signs of Safety and the successful candidates will be trained to deliver this support and service. The Consultant Practitioners need to be passionate about children in care and will advocate and support good practice in the service.

Your role as Consultant Social Worker will focus on:

  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality services to children, young people and their families, using the Signs of Safety Practice, coaching and mentoring. 
  • Support the team's professional development through a range of ways, including group supervision
  • Support the team to meet its service objectives, key performance targets and statutory duties. 
  • The role will support the team and other professionals both internally and externally.

As a Consultant Social Worker, you must be:

  • HCPC registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Qualified as a social worker
  • Experienced in similar roles
