Barnardo's has an ambitious ten year Corporate strategy which will result in better outcomes for London's most vulnerable children and young people. Working integrally with Corporate colleagues, Barnardo's London Children's Services are developing innovative operating models and ways of working which will put this vision on the ground.

We are working to three strategic aims – building ‘Stronger Families,' to ensure ‘Safer Childhoods' leading to ‘Positive Futures'. By focusing on these aims, we will reach out to more vulnerable children and help them improve their life chances. Barnardo's London is now repositioning its services and leading the development of best practice under these strategic themes.

This is an exciting time to be joining the team. We are looking for an Assistant Director, Children's Services (Serious Youth Violence and Child Criminal Exploitation) who will be key in making a real difference in the lives of Children, Young People and Families impacted by all forms SYV and CCE in London and across the UK.

Responsibilities as a Assistant Director:
  • You will develop and deliver a strategic vision for a thematic programme which will help transform the lives of children and young people impacted by SYC and CCE.
  • It goes without saying that applicants will have an absolute commitment to and passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people in London. We want candidates with inquiring, curious and challenging minds, receptive to big ideas but analytically capable of testing them against operational reality.
