Hospital Social Worker - CAHMS - Maidenhead - £33,325.50 per annum

An exciting position has become available for an experienced social worker in a private hospital caring for children and young people with eating disorders, such as anorexia and bulimia and other complex mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder and emerging personality disorder.

This role involves discussing new referrals with the Multi-disciplinary Team, reading the information sent and critically analyzing so that you may raise awareness from the social work perspective for potential admissions. Where necessary providing verbal and/or written reports to the Clinical team.

Responsibilities as a CAMHS Hospital Social Worker:

* To complete the Multi-disciplinary form, establishing any requirements and needs of the young person.
* A key role is to help the young person through transition and provide support in relation to any related problems.
* Establish contact with family, significant others and the relevant statutory agencies. Ensure that any safeguarding concerns are noted and shared with the Unit consultant.
* Clarify those adults with parental responsibility and compile necessary Care Plans with the young person for their records.
* To compile a comprehensive social history, via hospital notes, contact with social services and other agencies, contact with the patient and family.
* Admission can be a difficult time for young people and it is important to work with the nursing team so that everyone is aware of any risks or historical events that can impact on the Mental Health of the child.
* Being able to communicate with young people is essential as are assessment abilities.

Essential Requirements:

* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Hold a full UK licence
* Post-qualified experience
* Completed ASYE
