Social Worker - Mental Health - Southend - £31,371 - £36,876p/a

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Social Worker to take on a 1 year fixed term position within a Mental Health Team in Southend-on-Sea.

Southend Council is a unitary authority based in the heart of the town and offers traditional seaside living which makes it a great place to live and work. This diverse and busy town has great public parks and leisure activities, competitive house pricing, and excellent travel links, accessible via 2 train lines from Liverpool St and Fenchurch St.

The Council is looking to recruit a qualified social worker for their busy Mental Health Team as part of the Growth Bid for the Adult Mental Health Social Work Service.

A Mental Health Social Worker will have the following duties:

* Co-ordinating the care in complex cases under CPA
* Developing co-produced care plans with service users
* Assessing risk and managing it
* Safeguarding vulnerable adults
* Using holistic assessments of mental health and social care needs
* Conducting Care Act assessments
* Working with carers and wider support networks
* Partnership working with other statutory and voluntary organisations
* Liaising with inpatient units
* Keeping accurate records and writing high-quality reports

You will need:

* A social work qualification and Social Work England registration
* Post-qualified mental health experience
* Familiarity with health and safety and good practice and be able to implement these in all aspects of working practice
* Eligibility to work in the UK
