We have an exciting opportunity available in St Helens for an experienced team manager to work in a permanence team.

This role is located at the heart of England's North West - midway between the cosmopolitan cities of Liverpool and Manchester, and within a 90-minute drive of the Lake District. Responsibilities as a Permanence Team Manager:

* Managing a team and supervising social workers
* The permanency service
* Working with foster carers
* Some understanding of the leaving care service/transitions
* Care planning regulation
* Developing permanency plans which include SGO and adoption
* Corporate parenting responsibilities
* Life story work
* Safeguarding knowledge
* Excellent working relationships with families
* Day to day case management
* Looked after children reviews
* Allocating work to staff
* Conducting formal supervision of staff to support them professionally to undertake their caseload of work
* Appraising staff and ensuring training/ learning needs are identified

Essential Requirements:

* Social Work England Registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Qualified as a social worker with previous management experience
