Social Work Team Manager - Permanence Team - Stockton - £36 per hour

We are currently looking for an experienced Social Work Team Manager to join a Permanence Team based in Stockton.

The Permanence Team works with children, their primary carers and families to support already agreed long term permanent plans where they are assessed as needing to be cared for outside of their birth parent's care. This primarily includes Looked After Children, and children subject to special guardianship or child arrangement orders.

Duties of this Social Work Team Manager role include:

* To line manage a team of social workers and family workers in order to ensure the effective and safe delivery of children's social care services
* To be responsible for all aspects of the team's functions including work allocation, supervision, workload review and case recording
* To ensure that each team member provides high quality assessment and case work services within the legislative and policy framework
* To ensure the effective performance of the team, utilising manual and electronic management information systems, using target setting, monitoring, regular case file audits and performance appraisals of staff
* To work collaboratively with colleagues from a range of different professional backgrounds and maintain productive working relationships and successfully coordinated service delivery
* To effectively chair a range of meetings including planning, strategy and legal meetings and make decisions as appropriate to the needs of the children involved
* To represent Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council at a senior level in a range of different settings including child protection conferences/reviews and court proceedings

Essential requirements this Social Work Team Manager role include:

* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Hold a full UK drivers' licence
* Post-qualified experience
